ProX Carbon Rims Quality Control

At ProX, every carbon rim is engineered with precision and validated through a comprehensive quality control system. Each stage of inspection is designed to ensure structural integrity, dimensional accuracy, and long-term performance. From weight consistency to airtight reliability, every detail is controlled to deliver a carbon rim that meets the demands of modern road, gravel as well as mountain bikes.

A. Precision Weight Control

Weight is a defining factor in carbon rim performance, but true performance comes from consistency, not just low numbers. At ProX, we implement precision weight control throughout every stage of production—from carbon fiber layup and resin application to curing and final finishing. Each rim is individually measured and recorded to ensure it falls within a tightly controlled target range. This process guarantees not only a lightweight structure, but also uniformity across production batches. The result is a predictable ride feel, balanced wheel builds, and reliable performance for every rider.

B. Rim Flatness Inspection (≤ 0.25 mm)

Carbon rim flatness plays a critical role in braking performance and overall wheel stability. Every ProX carbon rim undergoes a detailed flatness inspection using high-precision measuring equipment capable of detecting even the smallest deviations. With an internal control standard of ≤ 0.25 mm, each rim is verified to maintain exceptional sidewall alignment. This level of precision minimizes brake rub, reduces vibration, and ensures consistent braking performance, particularly under high-speed or heavy-load conditions. It also contributes to a more stable and confidence-inspiring ride.

C. Rim Roundness Inspection (≤ 0.3 mm)

Perfect roundness is essential for efficient rolling and optimal spoke tension distribution. At ProX, each rim is carefully inspected using calibrated fixtures to verify radial accuracy within a strict tolerance of ≤ 0.3 mm. This ensures that the rim maintains a true circular shape, allowing for even spoke tension during wheel building and improved structural balance. A precisely round rim enhances rolling efficiency, reduces energy loss, and delivers a smoother riding experience. It also improves long-term durability by minimizing uneven stress across the wheel system.ProX Carbon Rim Roundness Inspection

D. Airtight Integrity Testing

To meet the demands of modern tubeless systems, airtight performance is essential. ProX performs a full immersion leakage test on every rim to validate the integrity of the carbon structure, spoke holes, and valve hole. Each rim is inflated to standard operating pressure and submerged in water, with technicians inspecting for any signs of air bubbles that indicate leaks. This 100% inspection process ensures zero air loss, reliable tubeless performance, and long-term durability, eliminating the risk of slow leaks and ensuring worry-free rides.

E. Final Visual Inspection

Before leaving the factory, every ProX carbon rim undergoes a comprehensive final visual inspection. Experienced technicians carefully examine each rim for surface consistency, carbon fiber alignment, resin finish, and overall cosmetic quality. This step ensures that every product meets not only structural and performance standards, but also the high aesthetic expectations of premium carbon components. By eliminating visual imperfections and verifying finishing details, ProX delivers rims that reflect both advanced engineering and refined craftsmanship.ProX Carbon Rim Final Visual Inspection
