About Us

PROX specializes in the design, R&D, and manufacturing of bike carbon rims, as well as carbon wheels building. Founded in 2015 in Xiamen City, China, PROX has grown steadily over more than a decade and now offers a diverse product range of carbon rims and carbon wheels for Road, Gravel, Time Trial/Triathlon, MTB, e-MTB, BMX, Folding and Fat bikes. 
2015 - PROX team was founded by a group of experienced engineers who had ever worked at Specialized OEM carbon rim factory. In its early stage, PROX focused primarily on carbon Road rims.
2016 - Carbon fat bike rims and BMX rims were added to our product portfolio.
2017 - Our product range expanded further to include MTB and e-MTB carbon rims.
2018 - We established wheel-building workshop and began in-house assembly of complete carbon wheels.
2019 – LightCarbon (China leading carbon frame manufacturer) invested in PROX, forming a strategic partnership. PROX focuses on carbon rims and wheels, while LightCarbon focuses on carbon frameset. Since then, both PROX and LightCarbon are able to supply carbon rims, carbon wheels and carbon frameset, with same factory price. So it is convenient for customers to do one-stop purchasing from either team.

In 2023, Carbon gravel rims were officially introduced, further strengthening PROX’s product range. Today, PROX continues to refine rim designs, optimize manufacturing processes, and expand OEM/ODM cooperation with bicycle brands worldwide.

 Custom Rim Specifications

For open mold carbon rims, PROX offers customization of rim drilling patterns, spoke holes, Presta or Schrader valve holes, as well as various rim finish, such as UD Naked Carbon, Black Matte, Marble Finish, and more. 

 Custom Wheel Specifications

We provide various wheelset configurations using proven hubs and spokes. Hub options include DT Swiss 180, 240, 350 hubs, as well as PROX own mold hub models such as C52DB, C67DB, C68DB, C69DB, R98, R65, G71DB, 88MB, 89MB, etc. Spoke options include Sapim CX-Ray, Race, Pillar 1420, 1423, as well as PROX own full carbon spokes CS1 and CS2. In addition, customers can also ship their own hubs to us for wheelset assembly.

2. UCI Application Support

PROX carbon rims are designed in accordance with the latest UCI technical regulations. We have some carbon road wheels already got UCI certificate, and our team has in-depth experience with the complete application process. If you want to get your wheels to be UCI approved, PROX team will give you full guide and help to arrange testing in our UCI verified testing equipment, helping your brand achieve UCI approval efficiently and with minimal risk.

Our rims are crafted from high-grade carbon fiber, including Toray T700, T800, T1100, etc. Supported by an experienced R&D team, each rim design is carefully optimized in fiber orientation, ply sequence, and material distribution, resulting in lightweight, strong, and stiff carbon rims across production batches.

At PROX, Quality Control is integrated into every production procedure:

- Incoming quality control of raw material

- In-process inspection during layup and molding

- 100% tire inflation testing for all carbon rims

- Roundness and flatness measurements

- Final appearance inspection before packing or wheel assembly

6. Precise Hand-Built Carbon Wheels

Each carbon wheel is meticulously hand-built and tension-checked by our experienced mechanician. Spoke tension, lateral and radial trueness, and overall balance are carefully controlled to ensure long-term reliability and consistent riding performance.   

7. Rigorous Testing

Before market release, PROX carbon rims undergo comprehensive testing, including: Spoke Hole Pull-Out Test, Lateral Stiffness Test, Radial Stiffness Test, Inflation Test, Impact Test, Wheel Rolling Fatigue Test, etc.

8. Stable Capacity & Timely Delivery

There are around 50 employees in PROX carbon rim factory. Well organized production plan, defined lead time, and responsive communication ensure our timely delivery, and help customers to manage product launches and inventory with more certainty. At the current stage, our production capacity is: 
· Carbon rims: 5000 pcs/month
· Carbon wheels: 1200 pairs/month
